IAY Outdoor Pool Greeter Location: Alpharetta Pay range: $7.25-$8.60 Job Code: AQU090 # of openings: 1 Description Title: Greeter – Outdoor Pool Location: Ed Isakson/ Alpharetta Family YMCA Supervisor: Senior Program Director & Associate Aquatics Director Apply Online Only: press “Apply for this Position” or “Add to My Jobs” button below No Phone Calls Please GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Senior Program Director and Associate Aquatics Director, the Pool Greeter is responsible for greeting YMCA members and non-members with a positive attitude, a smile and a hello. Exhibit a warm personality so people feel welcome within the facility. Member Greeter must perform duties in accordance with the policies, goals, mission, values and objectives established by the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA, Branch Strategic Plan and Member Services Guidelines. Emphasis will be placed on member service, program knowledge and communication to members and staff. KNOW HOW: A working knowledge of computers (MS Word, MS Excel, Yware helpful). Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve, and possess effective time management skills. Must be at least 15 years of age. Must pass the State of Georgia criminal background check. Prefer a minimum of one year or more experience in work relating to customer service, either paid or volunteer. High degree of human relation skills: Ability to effectively communicate and manage information to peers, staff and volunteers Ability to establish, collaborate and maintain relationships with staff, YMCA members, volunteers, schools and general public. Must be neatly dressed and well groomed, wearing staff shirt and ID. Bilingual, if possible. Organizational Competencies -– Leader Mission Advancement: Accepts and demonstrates the Y’s values. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Accept current membership cards and guest passes. Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR/AED, Blood-borne Pathogens, branch orientation, and Branch Emergency procedures. Take steps to building committed and connected relationships with members, volunteers, and collaborative partners. Maintains privacy requirements by not sharing personal information about members including, but not limited to, phone numbers, addresses, program participation, financial information, or personal situations. Adhere to, and implement, all policies and procedures listed in the training manual. Communicate in a positive manner with members, guests, program participants and volunteers. Provide appropriate assistance as needed. Attend all staff meetings and trainings, as required. Consistent display of the core values of honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility when dealing with members, volunteers, and staff. Stay educated and updated on current issues regarding all YMCA programs and events. Schedule and maintain facilities and equipment within program areas to the highest level of efficiency. Carry out other appropriate duties as prescribed by the Membership/Marketing Director. ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS: Bending, stooping, standing, lifting, seeing, hearing, sitting. END RESULTS: Safe, quality day camp programs that meet the YMCA goals and objectives of providing campers with a positive growth experience. Meets the mission of the YMCA. Helps to provide a fun, creative experience which reflects an enjoyment and appreciation of the outdoors.
