Our experienced and innovative staff bring expertise and passion into their classrooms providing targeted learning programs to support and cater for a wide range of student needs and skill sets.
Our school hosts the Evans Intensive English Centre which prepares newly arrived, to Australia, students to develop English skills to engage with curriculum in schools across the greater Western Sydney. The Learning Support Faculty provides students with an Austism diagnosis with a rich and student-centred learning program based on individual needs. In addition, the Return to School Centre provides targeted support for students from across Sydney West to build their personal skills and refocus on their studies before returning to their home schools.
The diverse range of our students is catered for through programs delivered across the Middle and Senior school. With 68% English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D), 5% ATSI, a growing group of International students and those from many backgrounds, our highly staff cater for their needs. An innovative and strong transition program supports students to move from the primary to secondary setting with ease. Community elders work with ATSI students to develop and achieve learning goals and our leadership program focusses on the development of students who are able to work in collaborative teams, think creatively and represent their school in a wide range of spheres.
Every classroom has state of the art technology with computer banks and panels and are air conditioned to improve the learning conditions for all. In addition, our newly established STEM room is equipped with laser cutters, 3D printers and resources to challenge students. Alternative classroom furnishings for Years 7 and 8 provide settings that are responsive to student learning styles and subject needs and a programmed cycle of maintenance is seeing the renewal of all of our classrooms.
