Individual serves as the prospect manager for a prescribed caseload of prospective major gift donors and or potential donors. This individual will be responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and gift closures supporting organizational priorities in the range of $25,000 and above. He/she helps develop solicitation strategies with fundraising team and Leadership in the Health Sciences at The University of Vermont Medical Center and UVM and the The University of Vermont Medical Center Foundation Board. He/she coordinates with other professionals within the Department and at the University of Vermont as appropriate throughout the organization to maximize fundraising effectiveness. Travel within the region (Vermont/Northern New York) is a major component of this positionThis person shall have the requisite experience and expertise in all areas of major gift work including one on one relationship development, proposal writing and a basic knowledge of Planned Giving information.
EDUCATION:
Baccalaureate degree required.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least three to five years of professional development experience preferred- A demonstrated track record of accomplishment in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, closing major gifts at the $25,000 + level, and providing stewardship to leadership donors- Background and experience with annual fund campaigns, major gift programs and a basic knowledge of planned giving.- Ability to be efficiently self supporting with basic office technology. Knowledge of database systems and desktop publishing software including PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word, and Raiser’s Edge- Ability to initiate and build long-term relationships with prospective individual donor partners- This position requires an extensive travel component.
