The Streit Council is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit incorporated 501(c)(3) organization that works to unite democracies as a path toward greater individual freedom, international solidarity, and global stability. It aims for the creation of an international order of, by and for the people. As a forum, the Streit Council is also where foreign policy practitioners and scholars explore viable answers to critical challenges facing democracies and the world.

We seek applicants for the Research Fellow position. The ideal applicant is well-organized, hardworking, and dynamic, with a sincere interest and background in transatlantic relations, European affairs, and/or international order.


  • Supervise intern activities in research, outreach, and office administration
  • Coordinate potential research opportunities with the Executive Director
  • Research primary sources, periodicals, books, and scholarly articles
  • Attend relevant events, hearings, and forums
  • Edit reports, newsletters, and other documents
  • Maintain and update the Streit Council’s website and social media accounts
  • General administrative tasks


  • A graduate student in History, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field with a strong background in transatlantic relations, European studies, and/or international order
  • Good academic standing (at least a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale)
  • Supervisory/management work experience
  • Superior editing and writing skills
  • The ability to work independently and lead in a group setting
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office
  • Experience in grassroots organizing a plus

Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, contact information for two references, brief writing sample, and college transcripts. Cover letter should include availability. Fellows are expected to work at least 25 hours a week.

This position includes a stipend.
