Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a Director of Informatics to join Solutions 4 Community Health (S4CH) an entity of Sun River Health.

The Director of Informatics will be responsible to ensure the Informatics Department is organizing, presenting and maximizing any and all information electronically stored and needed by the organization to manage business operations and improve health outcomes. In addition, perform daily duties and meet governmental regulatory requirements or grant deliverables needed.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with computer technology focus and 5 - 8 minimum years of experience required

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leveraging existing data systems to meet the information management needs of the organization.
  • Responsible for understanding the underlying data structures of the organization, accessing the data and delivering it in understandable and useable formats as it relates to the front end of software & healthcare operations.
  • Conducts assessments of the medical informatics environments, synthesizes pertinent information and creates standard reporting that meets the business and clinical needs of the organization.
  • Collaborates with the leadership and executive management team in the development of new and enhanced reporting templates.
  • Serve as the primary liaison as it pertains to informatics for related activities and the overall integration of programs and products with organization wide electronic activities.
  • Collaborates with staff in the use of both internal and external resources to support research, discovery and analysis needs of the organization.
  • Works with staff to implement appropriate project plans, practices, procedures and technology to maintain and enrich the information resources of the organization throughout its lifecycle.
  • Consults with Management and the Information Technology Department, training & operations in the application of information management practices to software development initiatives.
  • Demonstrates core competency in Cognos, SQL and any other HRHC report writing tool, as well as development, support and enhancements of these tools.
  • Provide guidance and oversite to the Manager and team members of the Informatics department ensuring positive, stable work environment including internal communication to superiors and subordinates, cross train, performance review and managing deliverables.
  • Provide project management of all long term department assignments by planning, organizing, securing, managing, leading, and controlling resources to achieve specific goals.
  • Utilize LEAN and six sigma concepts to encourage streamlined communication, zero error rates and improved outcomes across the organization using data, systems and experience.

Possessing knowledge of New York State Department of Health programs or federally qualified health center operations considered advantageous. Demonstrated experience working in a diverse employment setting working collaboratively with other employees of Sun River Health / S4CH considered an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $120,000.00 per year
