Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley is seeking a qualified candidate to join and support its individual giving program. The Development Coordinator (DC) is responsible for prospect identification and research, managing and expanding our new and middle donor programs, stewarding and soliciting donors, coaching peer-to-peer fundraisers, and providing general support to the individual giving team.
Prospect Identification and Research:
- Conduct prospect research on all new leads and prepare prospect research reports for individual giving team as needed.
- Research individuals with capacity for giving from event participants, faith community members, volunteer base, corporate engagement employees, ReStore donor/customer base, etc.
- Document wealth scoring and prospect research results into database.
- Assess data trends of constituents in database and identify donor prospects.
New and Middle Donor Program:
- Manage new donor program by reaching out to all new donors for stewardship and education.
- Steward monthly donors and develop strategies to increase giving and engagement.
- Manage Habitat’s middle donor program which includes a portfolio ($500 -$999 level) donors and prospects. Steward and solicit donors and apply a moves management approach to the portfolio. Pass individuals on to Development Officers as appropriate for further cultivation.
- Implement outreach to all new leads and prospects.
- Steward monthly donors and implement strategies to increase engagement.
Events Fundraising Coach
- Support peer-to-peer fundraising by encouraging participants to fundraise on behalf of Habitat. Maintain contact with participants with fundraising tips, updates, and incentives.
- Execute fundraising goal incentive fulfillment and post event follow-up.
Volunteer/Temp Employee Engagement:
Directly engage office volunteers and seasonal temporary workers with office-related tasks such as mailers, outreach calls, and data entry.
- Assist in gift processing and data entry as needed.
- general donor stewardship by ensuring that donors are acknowledged in a timely, effective, appropriate, and consistent manner.
- Work in a team environment on department activities and initiatives with a positive attitude.
- Attend and assist with speaking and organizational events when necessary.
- Effectively manage HEBSV’s resources.
- Commitment to affordable housing and to HEBSV’s mission.
- Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques.
- Willingness to connect with and solicit individual donors.
- Online investigative and research experience.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills and excellent penmanship.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Solid planning skills, including the ability to anticipate tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines and function smoothly under strict deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Computer proficient, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Experience with donor databases, ideally Blackbaud>
Must be available and willing to work the last week of December/first week of January and the last week of June/first week of July annually to support calendar year and fiscal year end giving and gift processing (except designated Holidays).
Full-time, flexible hours. Some weekday evenings and weekends required. Minimal travel.
