The Children’s Guild School of Baltimore is seeking an experienced Behavior Coach who will be responsible for both the behavioral management of children experiencing crisis situations and oversight of the Multi-sensory De-escalation Room. The Behavior Coach responds quickly and skillfully, in a therapeutic manner, to a variety of crises (both individual and group), which may require the use of therapeutic holding techniques. The Behavior Coach is expected to facilitate crisis resolution in a manner which promotes the learning of self-control and reinforces constructive problem solving. In addition, the Behavior Coach will be engaged in crisis prevention, which will involve training, primary intervention, assessing volatile situations, and anticipating interventions necessary to defuse the situation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related degree
  • MS Office Suite skills
  • Ability to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear; and frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds while performing the duties of this job
  • Ability to meet specific vision abilities required by this job including adjust focus.
