Job Summary

Xavier University of Louisiana, founded by Saint Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, is Catholic and historically Black. The ultimate purpose of the University is to contribute to the promotion of a more just and humane society by preparing its students to assume roles of leadership and service in a global society. Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at Xavier University was established to offer a range of high-quality educational opportunities to further strengthen nonprofit organizations throughout Louisiana and beyond. Founded by entrepreneur and philanthropist T. Denny Sanford, the Institute focuses on preparing exemplary nonprofit leaders and providing the support they need to be successful in making a difference in the lives of
others.

The position of Brand Ambassador reports to the Director of the Center for Continuing Studies and Distance Education (CCSDE). He/ She will support the CCSDE Program Manager with Sanford Institute of Philanthropy in operational activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • The successful candidate will possess the following background and abilities:

  • Understanding of the non-profit sector and fundraising with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience
  • Experience planning and implementing adult learning/training programs
  • Ability to communicate and work with individuals from the non-profit or fundraising community
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a polished, professional demeanor
  • Proven record for achieving goals
  • Strong writing & communication skills
  • Superior management and organization
  • Ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in the non-profit and fundraising field.

Special Requirements Summary

  • Generate attention-getting social media campaigns targeting students and oversee SIP’s presence on various social networks, including Facebook and Twitter.
  • Generate monthly or quarterly progress reports
  • Represents Sanford Institute at Xavier University of LA in community outreach initiatives, meetings, conferences, etc.
  • May require the ability to work evenings and weekends and some overnight travel
Work Hours

10 hours per week for a 6 months contract
