Position Summary

This one- to two-year postdoctoral program prepares scholars for successful academic positions within the field of MCH. It enhances scholars’ proficiency in MCH research (including scientific publication), teaching (including curriculum development), conceptual knowledge, communication, and professionalism/leadership. Postdoctoral scholars will work with MCH faculty and an array of partners, including those from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, state/local Title V agencies, and others. The postdoctoral scholars will be expected to publish 2 or more scientific publications each year.

Educational Requirements

Candidates who have completed doctoral training in varied disciplines are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with research-oriented doctorates (e.g., PhD, DrPH, ScD) or clinical degrees (e.g., MD, DO, DDS), and those focusing on MCH work within the United States.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should have doctoral training in research methods, including quantitative data analysis. They should also have graduate training in substantive areas relevant to the health and well-being of women, children, and/or families. In addition, they need training/experience in statistical programs (such as SAS, SPSS or other programs), as well as word processing programs.
