The International Institute of New England (IINE) is a non-profit organization that provides humanitarian relief, education, skills training, job placement, family reunification and pathways to citizenship for 2,000 immigrants and refugees each year. We work in Boston and Lowell, Massachusetts, and Manchester, New Hampshire.

IINE is the oldest and second largest resettlement agency in the region and has the largest Central American family reunification program in Greater Boston. Status: Exempt, Full Time


Fiscal Year Benchmarks

  • Responsible for $500K private foundation fundraising target in FY21

  • Provide strategic oversight to a portfolio of foundation funders/prospects; in concert with the CDO, set and implement the moves management strategy and activity calendar for private foundations

  • Generate a minimum of five proposals per month to private foundations

  • Steward 40 relationships with key foundation funders / prospects, , leveraging program staff as needed to strengthen partnerships with foundation partners

  • Prepare copy and other materials needed for the Annual Report, blog posts, newsletters, appeals, and other marketing materials related to development activity

  • Develop annual calendar for solicitations and reporting; oversee production and ensure timely submission of all required reporting to donors



The Digital Fundraising Manager is a fundraiser that helps develop and implement IINE’s digital outreach strategy to engage prospects, donors, and other constituents in advancing the organization’s goals and mission. Creates and edits content for email appeals, updates, and text-to-give messaging; manages distribution of digital outreach, including the development of segmented approaches; manages analytics and reporting on results.

Works with the Marketing and Communications Manager to create and edit associated fundraising content for IINE’s social media channels and its websites. S/he works with development and marketing teams on print-on-demand appeals and collateral.



  • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism or similar field; Masters preferred

  • At least 3 years of digital marketing or mass market fundraising experience or equivalent experience

  • Excellent writing and research skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  •  Demonstrated ability to persuasively articulate an organization’s mission, program objectives, and funding needs to a range of potential donors

  • Exemplary interpersonal skills: experience collaborating effectively with staff across departments and in culturally diverse settings

  • Demonstrated interest in and commitment to advancing the organization’s mission

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work under tight deadlines

  • Excellent social media skills, Microsoft Office skills; prior experience with Adobe Creative Suite desktop publishing tools and Salesforce customer relationship management software preferred


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead IINE’s digital fundraising channels; in concert with the CDO, set and implement the strategy and overall plan for digital fundraising

  • Develop and implement annual calendar of outreach (to be updated quarterly) by channel and audience

  • At the direction of the CDO, develop program content for digital outreach including email appeals and updates, texts, newsletters, brochures, and the print on demand collateral.

  • Work with Marketing and Communications Manager to develop development content for social media channels

  • Compile industry data and identify social insights to inform and support the social media team in developing a fundraising strategy for social media platforms

  • Communicate with other departments and divisional teams to assist with streamlining content for social media accounts

  • Monitor and reply to direct messages from email appeals, text messaging, and the website’s development landing pages; update Salesforce accordingly.

  • Establish and manage portfolio segmentation; monitor files for growth opportunities, and provide data analytics and reporting by channel and by appeal

  • Lead a weekly meeting to provide updates on distributions, openings, click-throughs, and campaign and appeal results

  • Work with CDO and Donor Management Specialist on researching new trends in digital fundraising, and make adjustments in the strategy accordingly

  • Complete routine administrative responsibilities as needed, such as filing, photocopying, routine donor correspondence, and database management

  • Maintain activity and donor information records in Salesforce

  •  Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor
