Description

ABOUT PACIFIC VISION FOUNDATION Pacific Vision Eye Institute is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art, comprehensive eye care to all regardless of income. Headquartered in the heart of San Francisco near Civic Center, the Eye Institute is much greater than the walls that encompass the building at 711 Van Ness. The Eye Institute is a comprehensive eye center, providing the highest level of patient care, medical education and community service led by world renowned ophthalmologists. Pacific Vision Foundation is the funding body behind the Pacific Vision Eye Institute. Inspired by the Aravind Eye Care System in India, known for its groundbreaking business model providing high volume, high quality and affordable eye care, Pacific Vision Foundation is one of the only organizations in North America implementing a nearly sustainable business model to provide eye care for all. For over 40 years, Pacific Vision Foundation has supported eye care for the less fortunate among us. Most vision loss is preventable or curable, yet even in our prosperous community here in the Bay Area, eye care is unattainable for many. And, the need is growing due to our aging population and the diabetes epidemic. Pacific Vision Foundation’s goal is to deliver excellent eye care to all, regardless of ability to pay. To accomplish this, PVF launched the Pacific Vision Eye Institute, headquartered in the Civic Center area of San Francisco, with outreach throughout Northern California. Building upon existing programs supporting charity care and education, the Eye Institute is establishing a network of leading practitioners to deliver the highest level of eye care to all members of our community.
