KnowledgeWorks, has an exciting opening for a Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Development, reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Development.

The Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Development, is responsible for managing activities and processes related to securing and reporting on grants received by KnowledgeWorks and its subsidiaries.  KnowledgeWorks and its subsidiaries receive grants from a variety of national, regional and local funders to help advance its mission.  Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Partnerships, this position involves working closely with colleagues across the organization including programmatic leads, Accounting/Finance staff and counterparts at grantmaking organizations to ensure timely and accurate grant application and reporting.  The position will also be involved in researching new grant opportunities from public and private sources.

Responsibilities

Account  Management

  • Assist project leads and senior manager of development in customer relationship management (CRM) with investors, foundations and program officers.

  • Track donor engagement and generate reports based on progress against internal goals, organizational financial targets and board deliverables.

  • Record all donor contacts, conversations, engagements and relevant information into centralized database.

  • Assist in the development and creation of an organizational annual giving report that can be shared internally with staff and the board as well as externally with potential partners and funders.

  • Manage and maintain KW's matching gifts program for staff and prospective recipients.

  • Maintain updates in central database to ensure that information is current and accessible to staff.

Grants Management

  • Coordinate all required logistical aspects of grants, proposals, contracts, including but not limited to preparation of agreements, deliverables, and interim reports and final reports.

  • Oversee and manage the stewardship process for grantors and donors.

  • Review, edit, write, draft and assist in the preparation of reports, proposals, and concept papers for existing and prospective funders.

  • Participate, as needed, in discussions with program officers recording the information, conducting any necessary follow-up and sharing with appropriate parties.

  • Provide logistical and administrative support to development and organization for regional fundraising strategies particularly in high priority states.

Research and Support

  • Conduct research and vet potential philanthropic prospects making recommendations as to organizational fit.

  • Prepare strategic briefs for senior executives and staff in preparation for meetings with funders and partners.

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize non-traditional prospective funding opportunities. 

  • Conduct independent research assessing impact and/or influence of KW engagement via phone calls, emails, and surveys with participants and attendees -- generating repots that could be used as internal validation for new and/or continued funding from investors.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, business, or related fields.  Equivalent experience in non-profits, public policy, business development and/or relationship management and project management as an alternative.

  • Certification or credential in grant writing and project management desirable but not mandatory.

  • Evidence of strong research and writing skills critical.

  • Salesforce proficiency preferred.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Ability and willingness to work comfortably and respectfully in racially and ethnically diverse communities.

  • Minimum travel expected.
