Vice President of Finance & Operations
National Psoriasis Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to finding a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and supporting those impacted by psoriatic disease. Headquartered in Portland, Ore., the Foundation is seeking an experienced Vice President of Finance and Operations. This senior manager position is responsible for providing vision, leadership, and overall management of the organizations financial related activities. The responsibilities will include financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, reporting, investment planning (revenue and expense modeling), and legal monitoring. Additionally, the Vice President of Finance & Operations will oversee our business operations that includes information technology (IT), Mail Center (shipping /receiving) and property/facilities management and supervise staff in the Finance and Operations department.
Responsibilities includes planning, directing, and evaluating the fiscal functions of our organization in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices; partnering with the CEO, COO and Chief Revenue officer with developing financial management strategies; directing the planning and budgeting process to develop annual budget; leading the organization’s revenue and expense forecasting process; managing the preparation of financial reports and updating forecasts for CEO, management and Board of Directors (BOD); presenting financial matters to BOD committee meetings; and providing monthly income / expense statements to department managers. This position will also be overseeing the coordination of the annual audit with external auditors, CEO and the Audit Committee of the BOD; developing recommendations for accounting procedural changes; and overseeing the filing of annual state and charitable solicitation reports.
Additionally, this position will be responsible for overseeing the day-today operations of finance, information technology, mail center and property management operations and activities; and will be providing leadership, direction, and monitoring of the performance of staff in the Finance & Operations Department.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, 10+ years of experience in nonprofit fund accounting with 5+ years in a leadership role in finance and accounting. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial accounting systems and databases; understanding of GAAP accounting for non-profits; ability to analyze data, and prepare financial reports/statements; working knowledge of IT, shipping/receiving, and building/facilities management; excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills; and experience with supervising staff. Position to work out of our Portland, OR office or be based in the Washington D.C. metro area. Position requires occasional overnight travel.
