SOAR is seeking to hire an Associate Director to help lead the organization, both administratively and clinically. This position is part of a succession planning track due to pending retirements of some of SOAR’s leaders. The Associate Director will start their tenure by shadowing and observing business operations in which the Executive Director and Clinical Director are involved. The incumbent will learn fiscal management, become familiar with SOAR’s board of directors, complete the nonprofit management certificate program at the University of Delaware, and guide the strategic planning process. By the end of the second year of employment, the Associate Director will have researched and applied for at least two federal pass-through grants and will have substantively taken over the management of at least two pass-through projects. The incumbent will be able to assist with the creation of the agency’s annual budget and annual report, help develop and implement program policies, and be able to provide supervision to administrative and clinical staff for most organizational operations.
The successful candidate will possess a graduate degree and be licensed to practice Clinical Psychology, Clinical Social Work, or be a licensed Professional Counselor to practice in the state of Delaware. SOAR is also seeking candidates with leadership and clinical experience who are trauma informed. The preferred candidate should have strong project management, technology, and financial management skills.
