Rust Belt Rising (RBR) is committed to helping Democratic candidates win elections for office in the states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin.  We conduct training programs for all Democratic candidates in the region. Executive Director Position

Rust Belt Rising seeks an Executive Director who will be an operational leader of this large effort. The Executive Director will:

 Recruit candidates throughout the region, enhancing existing partnerships and building new partnerships with local, state and Democratic Party organizations and synergistic organizations

  • Coordinate the design and production of the courses with excellent, deeply qualified presenters and a state-of-the-art online format, drawing on lessons learned from past course sessions

  • Coordinate a mentoring team to provide selected candidates with mentoring.

  • Direct all RBR marketing and other communications

  • Coordinate fundraising efforts, including identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts.

  • Manage all administrative functions of Rust Belt Rising, including the managing the organization’s budget and submitting monthly progress reports to the Board of Directors.

  • Source and manage vendors and consultants and any added staff.

  • Develop, coordinate, and enforce administrative systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

 EXPERIENCE:

RBR is looking for the best combination of the following:

  • Substantial managerial experience with excellent results

  • Experience developing strong relationships with individual and organizational stakeholders

  • Experience in effective written and oral communication and marketing

  • Experience with interactive technology including online learning and website management

  • Experience fundraising

  • Experience working well with a Board of Directors

  • Experience with political campaign and/or community organizing within the region

  • Experience overseeing accounting, budget and financial management

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Commitment to the RBR mission and approach

  • Self-starting and self-governing with a strong work ethic

  • Strong team leadership and relationship building skills

 

  • Extraordinary oral and written communication skills and

  • Results oriented and efficient worker

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Starting Date: The position is open immediately.
