Carle Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Clinical Research Fellow who will join Carle HVI physicians and clinician-investigators who are providing the most advanced care in the region in addressing the vast spectrum of cardiovascular health. The two-year postdoctoral fellow position will work collaboratively with physicians and research staff to coordinate the clinical and research utility of intracoronary ultrasound and optical coherence tomography, as well as participate in the construction of databases for HVI research and in the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data. Other duties include participation in scientific writing, preparing PowerPoint presentations, and coordinating external collaborations and clinical trials. 

  • Participate in development of databases

  • Participate in data collection, analysis, and synthesis

  • Participate in writing abstracts/manuscripts

  • Participate in preparation of scientific power point presentations

  • Participate in regional and national scientific presentations

  • Participate in coordination of external research collaboration

  • Participate in coordination of investigator-initiated and multicenter clinical trials

  • Coordinate the clinical and research utility of intracoronary ultrasound and optical coherence tomography

  • Participate in constructing clinical database for HVI

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS 
Doctorate 

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS 
Licensed MD 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 
Minimum of 2 years in a clinical setting. Ultrasound and optical coherence tomography a plus. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS 
Ability to develop and monitor databases. Advanced understanding of statistical analyses. Excellent technical writing skills. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively wide range of researchers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate interactions with faculty, clinical-investigators, and staff. Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong ability to multi-task. Attention to detail. Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable software.
