ACBL Ed Foundation - Remote
The ACBL Educational Foundation is searching for its first-ever executive director. The ideal candidate doesn’t have to be a bridge expert, but should understand the benefits of playing bridge and appreciate the passion that many players feel for the game.
The ACBL Educational Foundation was created in 1987 as an independent offshoot of the American Contract Bridge League. It’s mission is to get more people playing bridge, not only by growing the number of competitive bridge players, but by introducing the game to people of all ages and from all walks of life. The foundation receives contributions from individuals, families and corporations, and awards grants for programs to carry out its mission.
The executive director (E.D.) will lead all operations of the foundation, including fundraising, grantmaking, and working with the trustees on a strategy for growth. The E.D. will report to the board, and supervise the current part-time grants coordinator and any other staff hired by the E.D. The E.D. will run the organization remotely from anywhere in North America. The board conducts three in-person meetings a year, at the North American Bridge Championships held in the spring, summer and late fall and there may be other travel required.
