Walk San Francisco, San Francisco's pedestrian advocacy organization, is looking to fill recent vacancies on its Board of Directors. If you've been looking to serve on a board of an organization dedicated to issues of transportation and livability, now could be your chance.
Walk SF's mission is to make walking in San Francisco safer for everyone, so that our community is healthier and more livable. We are one of the city's most effective and dynamic grassroots organizations. Through smart, targeted advocacy, Walk SF is improving our city by reclaiming streets as safe, shared public space for everyone to enjoy. You can learn more about our programs and current campaigns here.
Our staff and budget have tripled in size over the past three years, and as we grow we are playing an increasingly influential and visible role in shaping decisions regarding San Francisco's transportation system and quality of life. We are looking for bright, dynamic people who can help set the direction and priorities for our growing organization. Our board members find board service highly rewarding. We become involved in the life of the city, develop or sharpen our professional skills, improve our community, expand our networks and have a lot of fun in the process. The board meets once a month and members are also expected to join at least one committee and attend separate committee meetings.
This is an exciting time to be part of Walk San Francisco. If you are interested in learning more about serving on our board, contact Niko Letunic at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (415) 216-9413. People whose backgrounds give them a different perspective on walking in San Francisco are especially invited to consider this opportunity.
